Helen Sisson
Executive Assistant

Helen Sisson was employed as Personal Assistant to the Head of School at Presbyterian Ladies College (PLC), Armidale for 10 years. Prior to that Helen worked in a variety of industries including legal, architectural and financial management. Helen was educated at PLC and recently completed a Certificate in Business Studies.

Helen joined the Sheep CRC as Executive Assistant in April 2009 and has been a valuable addition to the Sheep CRC Head Office team.



Helen works closely with James Rowe (Chief Executive Officer) and her responsibilities include:

  • Executive Officer for the Board, Commercialisation & Adoption and Executive Committees. This involves preparation of high quality meeting papers as well as coordination of meeting arrangements and travel.
  • Coordination of Board and industry forums including Participants Forum, Planning Meetings and associated travel and accommodation.
  • Coordinator of CRC Research Publications including managing the process of gaining Executive Committee permission to publish and maintaining details of papers in press and published.
  • Maintaining the Intellectual Property Register in consultation with the CEO.


Rhonda Brooks

Rhonda Brooks has over 30 years experience in general office procedures, accounting and Human Resource matters. For 19 years she ran her own businesses, primarily in Corporate Art & Design. Rhonda has certificates in Business Management, secretarial and office administration, Graphic Art and Interior Design.

In 2007 Rhonda was appointed Finance Officer for the Sheep CRC and in 2011 was appointed to the position of Office Manager. Rhonda works closely with Steve Potts (Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary) coordinating the day to day activities in relation to payments and invoicing.


Rhonda's role also includes:

  • Human Resources coordinating payroll, superannuation, leave and human resource records.
  • Executive Officer for the Project Review and Research Committee.
  • Coordination of the Centric Project Management System and flow on activities leading to the Operational Plan and Project monitoring.
  • Publication design and desktop publishing - Annual Report, Product Catalogue and conference programs.


Janelle Holzberger
Communications Officer

Janelle Holzberger joined Sheep CRC1 in July 2006 in the role of Executive Assistant. Prior to that Janelle held various positions including Office Manager, Personal Assistant, Personnel Consultant and Human Resources Officer in several different industries including construction, personnel recruitment, local government, airline and building design. Janelle has experience in all facets of office management.

She resigned from her position as Executive Assistant in 2008 and now holds the role of part-time Communications Officer with the Sheep CRC.


Janelle's areas of responsibility include:

  • Communications Officer maintaining the CRC database and coordinating media releases.
  • Sheep CRC Web Manager and coordinator.
  • Circulation of web-based bulletins.
  • Monthly enewsletter coordination and desktop publishing.
  • Publicity and provision of support materials for Sheep CRC and partner events.
  • Social media.
